ReSAKSS-Africa Lead Project Second Capacity Building Workshop for Francophone Countries

ReSAKSS-Africa Lead Project jointly organized the second workshop “Strengthening Capacity for Strategic Agricultural Policy and Investment Planning and Implementation in Africa” for francophone African SAKSS sensitized countries on June 20-21 at the IFPRI Office for West and Central Africa in Dakar.

The workshop conducted in French language was attended by 16 participants, including 10 CAADP focal persons and experts involved in the M&E systems of agricultural sector from 5 West African countries (Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, and Mauritania). Among the 10 trainees, there were 2 female trainees.

The overall objective of the workshop was to sensitize the participants on the potential value added of SAKSS systems in CAADP implementation and to familiarize them with typical SAKSS products.

The training focused on Strategic Analysis, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Capacity Needs Assessment. It was organized in plenary sessions where trainers presented and discussed topics interactively with participants and a break-out session for the country teams.
